      Toffee, the irresistible chewy sweet, is made using molasses or sugar with butter, milk and flour, often mixed with nuts or raisins. A favourite snack time treat across the world.
      The origins of this tasty butter-rich confection are unknown, though it is believed to have Creole descent, with the first written references to it appearing only in the early nineteenth century. This, however, does not take away from the fact that toffee has made a permanent place for itself in history for its immense popularity across the globe.
