Bubble gum in history
Bubble gum has enjoyed an interesting history. In the early 1900s, Frank Fleer experimented with different gum recipes to find bubble gum. The first bubble gum recipe was too sticky to enjoy and Fleer's experiment was never marketed. However, in 1928, Walter Diemer introduced a successful bubble gum recipe, after discovering it accidentally during an experiment. As a trial, he took the gum to a grocery store and was surprised to see that it all sold out in one day. Diemer collaborated with the Fleer Company to market this gum as "Dubble Bubble". The salesmen were taught how to blow bubbles and when customers bought the gum, they were in turn taught by them. For years "Dubble Bubble" was the only bubble gum in the market.
Today, the bubble blowing tradition continues. Friends now teach each other the art of blowing bubbles with bubble gum and it is a popular way to pass time.
Other than the fun part, bubble gum also helps in smoking reduction, weight management, providing relief from heartburn, breath freshening, gum care, dry mouth relief, stress reduction, improvement in concentration, memory enhancement and a host of other dental benefits.
Bubble gums are available in assorted colours and flavours and in different sizes and thicknesses.
